CNC Machinist - Fairfield, Iowa
OVERVIEW
This job opportunity is with a manufacturing facility in Fairfield and surrounding areas. We are looking for a skilled manual machinist to join the team. This position requires great manual dexterity and technical knowledge to be able to work with a variety of materials, tools, and machinery in the production of aluminum molds and steel cutting.
Applicants should have experience with manual lathes and mills. CNC machine experience is a plus but not required. The machinist should be able to work well with team members and produce quality work in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to make parts per print
- Uses lathes and mills to construct parts
- Monitors machines while working to adjust the feed and maintain temperatures
- Regularly performs routine machine maintenance
Competencies:
- Proficient with measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, rulers, scribes, and geometric dimensions and tolerances
- Knowledge/experience or familiar with Bridgeport Ez-trak, Autodesk Fusion or other related CAM software
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision throughout the machining process.
- Good communication with the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with engineers, mold makers, and other staff
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
WORK HOURS/WAGE
- 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm - Pay Range is $18 to $24 - based on level of experience
