Job Description:
Qualifications
Doctorate in nursing or related field
Current CRNA certification by NBCRNA
Current, unencumbered RN and APRN Licenses in Connecticut and Texas
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
Minimum of 1 year teaching and administrative experience preferred
Minimum of 2 year's experience as a CRNA
Responsibilities
Assists the Nurse Anesthesia Program Administration to ensure compliance with COA and CCNE accreditation standards.
Assists in developing Nurse Anesthesia didactic materials within regulatory and professional guidelines.
Develop and deliver instructional content for the education of nurse anesthesia residents during didactic, simulation, and clinical portions of assigned courses.
Utilize evaluation tools to assign grades for didactic course work.
Evaluate and assess current educational needs of the nurse anesthesia residents and participate in the revision of curriculum as needed in conjunction with Program Administration and faculty
Teaches at the graduate level in the Nurse Anesthesia Program.
Participate in recruitment, selection, and enrollment of nurse anesthesia residents during the admission process.
Promote and implement innovative curricular design and education strategies to support resident learning in the nurse anesthesia program.
Collaborate with the Program Administration to monitor and assess trends in nurse anesthesia practice and education.
Maintain open communication with nurse anesthesia residents in program by answering e-mails from students within 24-48 hours business days.
Competence in use of technology in teaching and distance learning.
Acts as a professional role model.
Demonstrated computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
Assume other didactic duties as assigned.
Didactic Responsibilities
Teach within the Nurse Anesthesia Program courses.
Advise nurse anesthesia residents in the completion of the DNP Project.
Clinical Responsibilities
Participate in annual clinical site visits in accordance with COA policies.
Maintain competency within anesthesia practice area.
