Fairfield University Assistant Professor/Instructor of the Practice, Marketing, Business Communications in Fairfield, Connecticut

Job Description:

The Department of Marketing at Fairfield University invites applications for a Professor-of-Practice position in the Dolan School of Business to begin January 2025. This is a non-tenure track, full time, fixed term, renewable position. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach “Messaging and Persuasion: Effective Business Communication” classes. Therefore, teaching and practical experiences related to this course subject are highly preferred, even though qualified individuals in all specialty areas of marketing will be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching four sections of Messaging and Persuasion each semester at the undergraduate level. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, Fairfield or Bellarmine campus, face-to-face, hybrid and online. The candidate may also need to teach graduate level courses.

  • Advising students and providing career guidance.

  • Contributing to course, curriculum, and program development.

  • Providing service to the department, the Dolan School of Business, the university, and the community at-large as necessary and appropriate.

  • Keeping the department and School current on industry practices and innovation

Qualifications :

Candidates, at minimum, must have an M.S. or M.B.A in business or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of business professional experience. Preference may be given to candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing a PhD or DBA degree.
