Our work depends on a Tableau Administrator with Development experience to join our team to support Tableau activities.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Tableau Administrator, you will be trusted to own and deliver complex solutions supporting Federal government programs. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Tableau software and server components

  • Monitor and optimize Tableau server performance, availability, and capacity.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau-related issues, such as data access, dashboard loading

  • Provide system administration support to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, custom objects, and deployments

  • Provide technical support and guidance to Tableau users, including creating and editing SQL queries, data sources, and calculated fields.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, accuracy, and availability

  • Expert in Tableau server commands like synchronization, Tabadmin, Tabcmd and Tableau server backup activity

  • Expertise in resolving workbook performance issues and implementing best practices

  • Assist in developing new Tableau dashboards and monitor, maintain, and enhance existing dashboards

  • Translate findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences

  • Be a creative problem solver bringing innovative solutions to HRSA data challenges

  • Establish and maintain best practices for dashboard and visualization design to ensure consistency and high quality

  • Present your work to the business audience, team members and other stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Scrum Teams to estimate, plan, and manage new feature development and testing

  • Work with team members to analyze business requirements, translating those requirements in to customized data solutions while keeping the overall end-user experience in mind

  • Assist with in-depth analysis of technical problems, suggest short- term and long-term resolutions and an overall roadmap for the completion

  • Support post deployment activities including knowledge transfer, process documentation and application bug fixes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

  • Hands-on experience developing customized solutions within the Tableau platform

  • Hands-on experience designing, coding, and implementing Tableau dashboards

  • 7+ years of experience developing IT systems

  • 3-5 years of experience with Tableau development

  • 3-5 years of SQL experience

  • Experience integrating Tableau visualizations into web applications

  • Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration from various data sources

  • Provide technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and “how-to” assistance

  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Healthcare Service or Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) agency experience

  • Experience version control configurations (Github, BitBucket) for Tableau development

  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as, but not limited to: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
