Job Description:

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Systems/Application Development Specialist. Here, you’ll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients. We are looking for a Systems/Application Development to join our team. You will be responsible for working with other technical team members to implement and transition to a new application for safe drinking water reporting. Through this role, you will interact state and tribal government officials, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency stakeholders, and other application/systems development specialists.

How an Application/Systems Development Specialist will make a difference

  • Act as the application/systems subject matter expert to include AWS cloud application hosting infrastructure, on-prem application hosting infrastructure, authentication, DevOps, security, networking, etc.

  • Design and implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions that meet requirements and support software development process maturity.

  • Evaluate existing systems and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement, optimization, and consolidation.

  • Responsible for future state infrastructure planning to support for applications and build infrastructure roadmaps for modernization and optimization leveraging a cloud environment.

  • Provide administration, monitoring, support critical system patches, respond to incidents, and schedule maintenance activities for applications.

  • Creates, plans, and configures highly complex engineering systems for optimal application operations.

  • Performs continual maintenance and creates solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.

  • Provides critical insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.

  • Drives scalability and operability of supported infrastructure.

  • Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and capacity constraints.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

What you will need to exceed

  • A bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required; or master's degree plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

  • 3 years’ experience with data integration in AWS ETL processing

  • 3 years’ experience utilizing data warehousing methodologies and processes

  • Experience utilizing an agile delivery methodology

  • Seasoned, experienced professional with a broad range of expertise and a wide range of professional experience, possessing a substantial understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories; expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways

  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments

  • Ability to serve as company technical spokesperson with subject matter expertise (SME)

  • Possesses deep technical expertise in database design, data integration with Informatica and AWS cloud technologies, reporting, and analytics

  • Experience consuming REST webservice APIs

  • Experience in Data Preparation: Data Profiling, Data Cleansing, and Data Auditing

  • Knowledge and experience of dimensional modeling

  • Strong knowledge of AWS

  • Full SDLC and Data Modeling experience

  • Experience with Data migration and integration from on-prem to AWS cloud

  • Experience with Data visualization tools (such as Qlik/Power BI)

Security Clearance Level

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Agency Specific)

  • Must be a US Citizen

The likely salary range for this position is $60,549 - $101,109. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
