SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL LEAD

Our work depends on Software Development Technical Lead joining our team to help the GSA ASSIST team achieve their mission. GDIT is seeking a highly skilled lead developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing microservices architecture, implementing SecDevOps practices, and managing AWS cloud environment. As a lead developer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise software solutions to meet the needs of our clients and enhance our overall technical capabilities.

HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL LEAD W ILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsibilities :

  • Microservices Architecture Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices architecture to support our client enterprise software applications and services. Implement best practices for microservices development, including service isolation, fault tolerance, and API design

  • SecDevOps Implementation: Lead the implementation of SecDevOps practices to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle. Automate deployment pipeline, infrastructure provisioning and security testing processes using tools like Jenkins, Terraform, and SonarQube

  • AWS Cloud Management: Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud environment to support the applications and services. Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership andguidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Mentor junior developers, conduct review, and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to promote continuous learning and improvement

  • System Integration Interoperability: Collatover with cross-functional teams to integrate microservices with existing systems and third part APIs. Ensure interoperability and compatibility between different components and services within the business eco-system

  • Security and Compliance: Work with security team to implement security controls and measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Support regular security assessments and audits as needed to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and risks

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field experiences; Master’s degree preferred

  • Proven track record of devising and executing comprehensive technology roadmaps to drive innovation and competitive advantage

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and nurturing high performing technology teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvements

  • Ability to lead/support organizational change initiatives by implementing new technologies, processes, and methodologies and driving adoption through effective communication and stakeholder engagement

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in full stack software development leveraging Java J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot Java frameworks, with a focus on API microservices architecture

  • Proven expertise in implementing SecDevOps practices and tools like Docker, Apache Maven, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform

  • Hands on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version controls, and automated testing frameworks

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Desired Certifications:

  • SAFe Agile (SA), AWS Certified Solutions Architect-professional, Certified Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Architect
