Your Opportunity

Stantec has an exciting opportunity for a Client & Biosolids Advisor based in our Mid-Atlantic market area.

Provide senior guidance to grow our regional and global biosolids practice in the consulting services we offer. It includes marketing and business development support where you are responsible for advising technology differentiation through thought leadership in your area of expertise by building the Stantec brand through visible presence in the venues of thought leadership across the industry, e.g., conferences, peer-reviewed research journals, academia, etc.; supporting project execution through advisory oversight to sustain a level of technical competency within the skillset; assisting in building the practice network through identifying and actively mentoring professionals throughout the organization to move the activities of the practice to higher, farther reaching levels.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical solutions and differentiation for the Wastewater & Biosolids Sector and Project Management support to teams implementing wastewater treatment and biosolids projects.

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for positioning Stantec in the biosolids, design, construction, operational and public policy market space.

  • Develop and implement a strategy for residuals and biosolids best practices for design.

  • Engage with local and regional business leaders to identify and pursue specific Biosolids opportunities, and to build the awareness and utilization of the Biosolids Practice in project execution.

  • Develop and nurture client relationships across the Mid-Atlantic.

  • Improve our biosolids practice profile though continual learning, innovation, IP capture and re-use, knowledge sharing, and development/deployment of best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership to support marketing and business development in our Mid-Atlantic market and beyond.

  • Work closely with Client Directors and Project Managers to leverage existing and build new relationships with clients and decision makers across the Mid-Atlantic.

  • Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.

  • Provide technical support to further the growth of Stantec’s, and the larger Mid-Atlantic wastewater & biosolids business.

  • Assist the Business Center Practice Leader and other Client Account Managers with developing new work in the Mid-Atlantic. Support with proposals and with preparing the technical aspects for project interviews conducted by clients.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Industry leader in technical leadership of complex and strategic projects.

  • Technical proficiency recognized as being at the highest level of their engineering field.

  • Thinks strategically about the range of market, business and/or economic issues likely to impact Stantec’s future.

  • Leader in identifying issues associated with implementation of emerging technologies and appropriate courses of action.

  • Experience with technical and thought leadership surrounding wastewater & biosolids operations and infrastructure systems.

  • Skilled at building consensus and cooperation with staff at all skill levels.

  • Proven ability to develop and leverage positive client relationships in the greater Mid-Atlantic region.

  • Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Capable in MSWord, MS Excel, PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.

  • Minimum of 20 years related work experience in the wastewater & biosolids industry.

  • Professional Engineering license preferred.

This is a part-time role working up to 20 hours per week.
