Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Business Process Analyst . The position will support a US Department of Education program that is playing a major role in modernizing America's Federal Student Aid (FSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). The Award Eligibility Determination (AED) system that GDIT is developing determines who is eligible for aid and assists in determining the amount of aid students can receive. AED will replace the legacy system and will receive FAFSA® data, receive FAFSA® match data from FSA and other federal agency systems, receive results, determine eligibility for federal aid, provide web services, and communicate data and outputs to other FSA systems for further analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities:
· Use Jira to regularly review and verify project schedules, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
· Monitor and validate that task start/end dates, milestones, and deadlines align with the project timeline and make corrections as needed.
· Ensure all tasks and project items are updated with current status and that progress accurately reflects team inputs and changes.
· Verify dependencies in Jira, confirming that related tasks are accurately linked, and schedules reflect any changes in dependencies.
· Generate regular reports on schedule adherence and data accuracy, highlighting discrepancies and providing insights for stakeholders.
· Communicate with teams, leads, and other stakeholders to clarify data issues and resolve scheduling inconsistencies.
· Proficient in creating and using Jira filters.
· Experience using JQL (Jira Query Language) for complex filtering and reporting.
· Familiarity with Jira Automation rules to set up alerts or automate recurring data checks.
Minimum/General Experience/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) or a related discipline or years of experience to can be substituted for degree.
· At least 8 years related experience as a project team member.
· A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience using Jira for project tracking, scheduling, or data verification purposes.
· Familiarity with project scheduling, milestone tracking, and dependency management to accurately verify project data.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Energetic, goal oriented, proactive, innovative, hardworking, and patient.
Preferred Requirements:
· Familiar with Agile methodologies and experience in an Agile environment.
· Experience generating Jira reports and using Jira plugins or dashboards to track and manage data.
· Background in project coordination, scheduling, or a similar data-checking role.
· Experience with ad-hoc coaching and mentoring techniques.
The likely salary range for this position is $92,331 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
