FirstService Residential Assistant Community Manager in Fairfax, Virginia

Job Overview:

As an Assistant Community Manager,you’llbe responsible fordirect oversight of certain areas of the management of the assigned community, reporting at all times directly to the General Manager.

This position is FullTime Temporary to Permanent- Mon-Fri 9-5pm.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversees all Management Office administrative staff, Front Desk Services (Doorpersons and Concierge) and Security along with the onsite supervisor for the outsourced company.
  • Responsible for directing the Administrative Assistant in preparation of Board of Directors meeting packages as well as posting of meeting agendas.

  • Daily supervisory level inspections in conjunction with the General Manager and Facilities Director,includinggrounds, lobbies, hallways, garage, spa, etc.

  • Vendor and service provider interaction daily to ensure that goods and or services are being received per contracts in place.
  • Otherwiseassistthe General Manager in the oversight of all aspects of the operations at TheGalaxyas necessary.
  • Be available for weekday committee meetings or other events as well as be available to return to the propertyin the event ofan emergency asdeterminedby the General Manager.
  • Serve as the primary on-site person responsible for the oversight of the operation of Management information systems, including First Service Connect or similar system.

  • In the absence of the General Manager, serve as the person responsible for oversight ofall ofthe administrative staff whereappropriate.

  • Coordinate outsourcing for various repairs that do not fall under the purview of the Facilities Director.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager and Facilities Director, whereappropriate collectand present bids for repair and replacement of certain non-mechanical items.
  • Facilitateresolution of resident complaints.
  • Administer andfacilitateall security surveillance repairs,replacementsand installations.

  • Publish Weekly Update for the community.

  • Maintaincommunity website.
  • Facilitateinternal communication asrequiredand direct the maintenance of office files.
  • Responsible for formatting andtimelyposting of all meeting agendas.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience, preferably in property management
  • Experience working on multiple projects at a time
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent word processing,mathematicand computer skillsrequired
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary.
  • Proficiencyin computer programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windowsrequired.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Compensation: $45,000-$50,000 / annually
