As the Fair Lawn, NJ Maintenance Manager, this individual will manage the strategic direction for maintenance & facilities operations that supports factory operations in a 24/7 facility. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the maintenance and repair of production factory, including all equipment, facilities & grounds. Ensures the maintenance department provides the highest quality of service to the plant.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance and electrical team; Coordinate and supervise all outside contractors.
Manage the maintenance of the building, grounds, plant and utility equipment
Develop, evaluate and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Ensure the performance, condition and reliability of all plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation of all equipment
Ensure a safe work environment through active participation in safety programs
Optimize maintenance support to provide technical and human resources to maximize equipment/ process reliability. Effectively uses maintenance team members to obtain maximum efficiency and utilization of resources. Effectively delegates assignments so members of maintenance group are always productive and follow-up with results to ensure accountability
Develop and implement Maintenance Reliability Systems that will facilitate the continuous improvement of production processes. Resolves recurring breakdown problems with production equipment.
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support (when required) with resolving processing and packaging equipment issues.
Conduct investigations, as needed and ensure proper documentation is maintained
Ensure functioning audit systems periodically assess procedures for both conformance to expectations and overall effectiveness
Manage core training and certification processes in the department
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in the management of the department
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering or related area strongly preferred with a minimum of five years of maintenance leadership experience OR a minimum of a HS Education with a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in manufacturing leadership in food manufacturing.
Excellent leadership and training skills required
Prior work experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude required
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills required
Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills required
Effective team player capable of working with diverse work crews
Computer proficiency required
Prior experience with major quality audits and development of work practices that are BRC compliant strongly preferred
Demonstrated abilities to multi-task and handle multiple priorities necessary
Must be able to work in high dust and noise area and be able to tolerate high heat and humidity
Must be able to walk on concrete floors and climb stairs occasionally
