Woodhaven Recovery, located in Factoryville, Pennsylvania is dedicated to providing specialized adolescent residential male continuum services. Tailored to meet the distinctive needs of teenagers, the program offers long-term residential support that seamlessly extends into young adulthood. Our teen program emphasizes integrated support, incorporating robust recovery principles, a dynamic high school program, engaging recreational activities, family education programs, and access to clinical support. Moreover, there is a strong emphasis on planning for the next step in each individual's journey. Complementing this, our collegiate recovery house is conveniently located in nearby Scranton, allowing our residents easy access to college and job opportunities.

Certified Recovery Specialist/Peer Recovery Specialist

We are recruiting outstanding individuals to join us as we create an innovative residential and programmatic approach for our new adolescent program opening in Spring 2024. We are looking for collaborative individuals, well versed in recovery principles with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to adolescent males.

 

Peer Support and Counseling:

 Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals in early recovery.

 Offer one-on-one counseling to help teens navigate challenges and maintain their recovery journey.

 

Facilitate Support Groups:

Conduct and facilitate group sessions to encourage shared experiences and mutual support among individuals in the program.

 

Implement Recovery Plans:

Collaborate with colleagues to develop personalized recovery plans and assist in their implementation.

Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting plans as needed to meet individual needs.

 

Education and Resources:

Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery principles, and available resources.

Provide information on community support services and external resources to enhance recovery.

 

Advocacy:

Advocate for clients' needs within the Woodhaven Recovery program and in external settings, such as educational institutions or workplaces.

Coordinate with Clinical Team: Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to recovery, addressing both mental health and substance use concerns.

 

Family Engagement:

Engage with the families of individuals in recovery, providing education and support to foster a supportive home environment.

 

Strategic Planning:

 Assist clients in developing and executing plans for transitioning to the next phase of their recovery, whether it involves education, employment, or independent living.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of significant interactions and progress.

 

Continuous Professional Development:

Stay informed about advancements in recovery practices, attending relevant training and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

 

Crisis Intervention:

Provide crisis intervention when needed, offering immediate support and collaborating with colleagues for more intensive interventions if required.

 

Recreation:

Promote physical well-being, stress relief, and positive coping mechanisms among residents.

Engage residents in age-appropriate activities and help them find fun in sobriety.
