Chester County Food Bank Development Associate in Exton, Pennsylvania

OUR MISSON: The Chester County Food Bank seeks to create a food secure Chester County. We mobilize and educate our community to ensure equitable access to nutritious and familiar food. Chester County Food Bank (CCFB) is a county wide, non-profit organization located in Exton, PA and has been in existence since 2009. CCFB works with over 100 community partnersto distribute over 4 million pounds of food annually to Chester County residents. We provide educational opportunities through programsto engage the community in hands on learning experiences. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Development, the Development Associate assists in the creation and execution of a comprehensive strategy to prospect, cultivate, steward, retain and expand the number of donors to Chester County Food Bank. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Aides in identifying and cultivating individual and corporate donors with a focus on relationship building, stewardship, and philanthropic growth. • Assists in the Annual Giving efforts of the Food Bank. This includes the review of solicitations and assistance with story telling and branding needs. • Manage a portfolio of individuals and corporations with a moves management focus. • Participate in and assist with Development related events. • Serve as a primary CCFB liaison on behalf of the development team for general inquiries from community members. • Serve as the immediate backup for the Database Coordinator helping to ensure timely recording and reporting of gifts and thank you correspondence through data entry tasks. • Maintain the day-to-day operations by ensuring mail is endorsed and batched to Finance consistently. • Remain knowledgeable on all CCFB programs, services, and organizational needs to better engage and grow community relationships through CCFB hosted tours and volunteer groups. • Maintain knowledge of current best practices in the field offundraising. Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring the ability to fulfill essential job functions while consistently meeting the required qualifications and physical demands of the role at Chester County Food Bank. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): • Experience in a non-profit setting preferred. • Direct experience with fundraising or sales strongly desired. • Experience and knowledge using and interacting with A.I. • Demonstrated ability and comfort working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. • Ability to maintain accuracy while paying close attention to detail and coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously. • Experience with CRM platforms and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). • Demonstrates sound judgment and responsible decision-making skills, with the sensitivity and discretion necessary to handle highly confidential donor and prospect information. WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time nonexempt position. The position is primarily M-F, but flexibility to attend evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events is required. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Most of the year, the work isin an indoor environment, protected from weather conditions but subject to some temperature fluctuations. Periodically during the year, the worker isinvolved in outdoor activities and subject to temperatures below 60 degrees F and above 80 degrees F. Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind possible. On occasion, the environment may be noisy and distracting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Particularly forsustained periods of time. • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one worksite to another. • Other movements required from time to time may include, but are limited to: stooping, kneeling, stepping, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motion of hand, fingers, and wrists.
