Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.

Since 2011, Raytheon Australia have been contracted to deliver facilities services in support of the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia. Home to the Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio transmission capability, adding a critical contribution to Australia's space domain awareness and battlespace awareness missions.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a bright and energised Power Generation Operator to join our inspired team.

To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated individual who is ready to work with a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team on-site in Exmouth WA.

Reporting to the Power Generation Supervisor, you will be responsible for controlling, monitoring, maintaining, and operating the associated equipment / plant to ensure uninterrupted generation and distribution of power.

This role is s hift work on a roster system, working a combination days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor individual operating equipment for proper operations.

  • Safely start and stop equipment and bring on-line and off-line.

  • Configure and manage the power system to meet the dynamic load demands considering the design and operational requirements.

  • Perform routine log checks and inspections on equipment.

  • Perform level 1 and level 2 maintenance on diesel engines and associated equipment.

  • Interpret schematic drawings to co-ordinate configuration changes and fault finding.

  • Provide knowledge and training support to new shift operators.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Certificate III in ESI Generation with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.

  • A broad knowledge of operational systems and practices, gained through extensive experience and/or education, is required.

  • Power Plant experience (or similar industrial work environment).

  • High school, secondary school or equivalent education is required.

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
