Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Landing Gear and Hydraulic Electrical/Electronic Control & Indication Systems Team is seeking an Electrical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) to join the team in Everett, WA . Occasional travel to Seattle WA is required.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate (Level 2), Experienced (Level 3) and Senior (Level 4) Electrical Systems Design & Analysis Engineers.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will help the team in defining and integrating airplane systems across our commercial fleet. All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific electrical indication and control architectures, operational specifications, physical integration of components and/or system integration into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life. We are continually evolving the state of the art in commercial air transport.

This position will be assigned to work with brake control system, antiskid / autobrake, tire pressure indication, brake temperature monitoring, landing gear/door actuation electrical control and indication, landing gear steering electrical control and indication, and/or hydraulic electrical components.

This is a union represented position.

Position Responsibilities (Level 2):

  • Understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts

  • Analyze, translate and implement requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle

  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solve problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Position Responsibilities (Level 3):

  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

  • Lead development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications

  • Lead reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements

  • Identify, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements

  • Lead activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services

  • Coordinate engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product

  • Plan research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

  • Perform troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause and provided corrective action plans for failure resolutions

  • Work under minimal direction

Position Responsibilities (Level 4):

  • Lead work with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements on complex multi-tiered projects including requirements definition, preliminary design, critical design, fabrication, integration, verification, and support.

  • Lead analysis and translation of complex requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Develop procedures and supplemental documentation to support production of flight and non-flight product designs.

  • Lead testing and validation work on complex system designs to assure that operational and functional requirements are met and resolve anomalies that occur during lab integration and flight test.

  • Work with other to develop program test strategies.

  • Manage performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Coordinate activities and products with cross-functional groups, internal partners and external suppliers to achieve defined production goals.

  • Conduct program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership.

  • Provide critical support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Lead research into technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

  • Make recommendations for technology investments.

  • Recognized as a business unit-wide expert in process development and qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design and resolving supplier technical issues.

  • Teach/mentor junior engineers.

Work Authorization:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 1+ years of experience in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering.

  • Experience with electrical systems design and circuit analysis

  • Experience with hardware and software design

  • Experience with model-based development tools & programming languages (CATIA, ENOVIA, Matlab, Simulink, Spice, C, C++, Python, etc)

  • Experience with motors, sensors, solenoids, switches, control, communication, power, and other electromechanical systems or electronic systems.

  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods

  • Knowledge of FAA / EASA certification

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.​

  • Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400

  • Experienced (Level 3): $102,000 – $138,000

  • Senior (Level 4): $124,100 - $167,900
