Boeing Commercial Airplanes is actively seeking a Crane Operator in Everett, Washington.

We are currently seeking candidates for a position that offers an exciting opportunity to operate cab-controlled overhead cranes and floor-controlled (radio or pendant) overhead cranes. Position Responsibilities:

  • Calculate safe load requirements prior to lifting so as not to exceed lift capacity.

  • Operators typically receive their assignments by radio from the dispatcher.

  • Use hand and/or audible signals to guide the movements of cab or radio controlled cranes.

  • Inspect condition of the crane and all equipment to be used to perform work assignment.

  • Report any malfunctioning or unsafe equipment.

  • Work on/coordinate developing safety processes relating to overhead crane operations, as required.

  • Participate in safety improvement activities and projects, as required.

  • Assist new employees to become familiar with equipment and procedures.

  • Operate cab-controlled overhead traveling crane to lift, move, lower and precisely position large aircraft parts and assemblies raw stock, equipment and assemblies in storage, heavy machinery, dies, jigs, etc.

  • Guide the movements of cab-controlled overhead cranes by visible or audible signals.

  • Select, secure and adjust suitable chains, cables, slings, hooks and other lifting and securing devices to properly load and balance a variety of large assemblies, tools, equipment and other items being moved and positioned by overhead cab cranes.

  • Communicate move status with management, shop leads, scheduling dispatchers, share knowledge, advise and communicate skills information with other employees.

  • Provide on-the-job training to others.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Experience with material handling equipment such as overhead cranes.

  • Experience inspecting and maintaining crane like systems.

Typical Education:

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift Work:

  • This position is for 2nd shift.

  • Ability to work 2nd shift with the opportunity to move to other shifts based on IAM contract and site needs.

  • This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.

Summary pay range: $27.50 - $47.56.
