Automation Engineer II to Principal Engineer (DOQ) $74,604 - $219,134 Annually Job #16192 We are recruiting for a range of titles; the successful candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on qualifications. Basic Responsibilities Successfully provide technical, engineering, and project management services related to the design, maintenance, operations, improvements of and additions to the District's facilities. Plans, organizes, and conducts work requiring knowledge of 480V electrical systems for industrial/commercial facilities, building management systems, building commissioning, UPS design and data center experience. Performs as project leader on medium to large projects and assignments. The Automation Engineer at the District serves as the central point of contact for connecting data from outstations to the various systems which enable monitoring and control of the District's electrical system. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and refining processes and workflows used to generate data concentrator configuration files, develop SCADA and data historian point lists, and manage relay engineering access system setup. Required qualifications include the ability to lead collaborative cross-functional teams to support timely delivery of configurations and data. Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong communication and organizational skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have experience with SEL Real-Time Automation Controllers and with relay event file retrieval and archival systems as well as familiarity with electric utility systems and their operation, including transmission, substations, and distribution. Desired qualifications include a working understanding of SCADA systems including point types and their attributes, familiarity with DNP 3 communication protocol, operational and non-operational data reporting requirements, and transport systems. Minimum Qualifications Engineer II: $74,604 - $124,342 Annually • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND Two (2) years of related engineering experience; OR • Six (6) years of directly related engineering experience Engineer III: $124,779 - $155,975 Annually • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND Four (4) years of related engineering experience; OR • Eight (8) years of directly related engineering experience AND a Washington State Professional Engineering License (PE) in-lieu of a Bachelor's Degree. Professional Engineer: $156,523 -- $195,655 Annually • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, *AND Six (6) years of related engineering experience; OR • Ten (10) years of directly related engineering experience.
