Job Description Summary

Partner with the operations team and finance commodity leaders to drive optimal business performance (Quality, Delivery, Cost & Cash). Supports deal underwriting for commercial agreements with supply base & manage ongoing financial performance following agreement of deals. This role will support all commodities and drive standard work, continuous improvement and the deployment of FLIGHT DECK amongst the commodity finance processes. This role will also act as a floater to step in for the Commodity Finance leader in times of absence.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partners with operations team and commodity finance leaders to support business performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Cash)

  • Responsible for financial support on deal underwriting, supplier/contract management, and cost/cash optimization projects

  • Develop new tools or models to help reduce the processing time to produce deal financials, consolidated inputs/outputs, and resulting actions out of approvals

  • Lead projects to improve, simplify, and automate standard work within the commodities space.

  • Communicate complex messages to others and explain difficult information

  • Work through areas of ambiguity and partner with cross functional teams in operations & finance to problem solve and benchmark best practices

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in the Finance function

  • 5+ years experience in Finance with increased levels of responsibility

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects. Ability to document, plan, and execute process improvements

  • Prior experience using large datasets/automation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Spotfire, etc) a plus
