GE Aerospace Lead Materials and Process Readiness Engineer in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Lead Materials and Process Readiness Engineer will be responsible for management of projects to develop and mature advanced material systems and processes necessary to produce development and low rate production aerospace hardware. You will define parameters and work plans to meet day-to-day and short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning while keeping safety and quality top of mind.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Experience with Research and Development (R&D) for Process Optimization.

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma Tools.

  • Identify and communicate to leadership schedule pressures and implement plans to mitigate the impact of those pressures on program deliverables.

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.

  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.

  • Support preparation of invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preference to Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering, from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing) + Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

  • Ability to work independently and in a small group setting

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Destructive evaluation experience including metallography and mechanical testing

  • Failure analysis experience

  • Powder metallurgy experience

  • NDE or Metrology experience.

  • Coding background

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
