Job Description Summary
The Electrical Power System Test Evaluation Engineer will report to the Hybrid Electric Electrical Systems and Test Manager within the GE Aerospace Advanced Technologies Organization / Future of Flight department. The engineer will be responsible for the technical and programmatic coordination of hybrid electric power subsystem testing for hybrid electric programs. This role is essential towards the safe and effective execution of GE Aerospace’s suite of ground and flight technology demonstrator vehicles. These demonstrator vehicles serve as foundational platforms for maturing hybrid electric and other technologies central to the realization of the aviation industry’s sustainability goals in the first half of the 21st century.
Successful early/mid-career GE Aerospace test evaluation engineers most often possess prior test operations experience from either academia or industry. They may have a diversity of educational backgrounds including, but not limited to: aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems, controls, and software engineering.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Electrical Power System Test Evaluation Engineer, you will:
Actively prepare for, participate in, and document results of power systems testing on site at the GE Aerospace EPISCenter in Dayton, OH
Coordinate test vehicle instrumentation, assembly, and test execution with specialists
Coordinate test requests with the vehicle systems and design engineering team
Provide clear, timely communication of test preparation status, test outcomes, and team needs to facilitate continued test execution
Capture lessons learned and best practices to aid in continuous improvement of test execution activities
Define and formalize system, test, hardware, software, and human integration requirements
Apply and define GE best practices in the operationalizationof hybrid electric testing
Support test integration in a diversity of system integration environments – from local desktop computer simulations to fully representative flight tests
Present results to internal (GE) and external (customer, agency, government, …) customers
Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university with 3 years experience in an Engineering and/or Test role

Knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer
Test system design or data system design experience

Willingness to support a distributed work location to best meet evolving program needs, balancing time across Evendale, OH; Dayton, OH; and remote
