Job Summary:

The Core Department Welder is responsible for assembling filter frames by cutting, bending, and molding precut metal sheets to assigned specs and applying mig and tack welding techniques for a strong hold. The position will consist of approximately 80% fabrication and 20% welding activities.

Job specific responsibilities:

Below is a list of the essential job responsibilities that theCore DepartmentWelderwill perform. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Prepares flat precut metal sheeting into appropriate core/frame shapes using manual and electronic rollers and other molding devices
• Assembles rolled frames/cores via a combination of bolts, clamps, tack welds, and mig welds
• Measures completed core to verify it is in conformance of the work order before moving to the next stage in production process
• Marks bending and cut lines to the product per assigned specs
• Uses appropriate safety gear to the job being performed
• Maintains work orders and plans/prioritizes workload based on individual orders and deadlines

Education / Technical Training expectations:

• 1+ year of related experience
• Knowledge of mig and tack welding required
• Ability to read blueprints/work orders

Job Specific Physical Demands:

This position requires:

• Continuous standing and movement
• Bending and stooping occasionally
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to continuously work in an industrial setting with temperature variations
• Push and pull using a rolling cart and hand truck
• Repetitive hand motion, twisting and arm motion
• Occasional reaching above and below the waist level

Schedule Standard schedule is M-F 7:00am to 3:30pm with occasional overtime.
