St Joe Inn Line Cook in Evansville, Indiana

Job Summary: The Line Cook prepares and cooks food items according to established recipes and standards. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation:
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring as needed.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications for all menu items.
  1. Cooking:
  • Utilize printed Order Ticket when starting preparations
  • Cook food items on the line efficiently and according to order specifications.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to restaurant standards.
  1. Cleanliness and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding orders and special requests.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Assist in managing inventory, including receiving and storing supplies.
  • Notify the owner of low stock levels or equipment issues.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to take initiative.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Capable of working in a hot, noisy environment.

Schedule: - Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
