The position of Director of Sales, Food Service Flexibles is responsible for building and maintaining relationships and facilitating Berry’s presence within the National Account Director’s assigned portfolio and overall company goals. The Director of Sales, National Accounts is responsible for showcasing the Company’s unique value proposition specific to the concerns of those accounts.This position reports to the Director of Sales-National Accounts with dotted lines to the PL Leaders in ICL, IPD and SFM.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and manage a portfolio of food service customers, including but not limited to QSRs, C Stores, and Broadline Food Service Distributors.

  • Create, build, can maintain customer relationships from the C Suite to street level.

  • Identify key decision makers and utilize a consultative selling approach to add value to their businesses

  • Pursue identified business prospects and participate actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities

  • Understand the impact of sales and financial decisions on the company

  • Collaborate with Product Line, R&D resources and the sales leadership team to define an overall sales strategy and to develop solutions responsive to the customer’s business

  • Drive high level teamwork and collaboration to gain the committed and motivated efforts of the company's staff who do not report directly to the Sales team

  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the assigned account base

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Minimum five years of successful sales management experience with food service customers; specifically, QSRs, C Stores, broadline food service distribution, and similar customers.

  • Proven ability to operate with a sense of urgency, high energy, and successful at problem solving

  • Must be able to manage complex relationships with sales and customers. Must exhibit a wide range of independent decision making and control.

  • Business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze and solve problems with varying degrees of complexity

  • Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, collaboration and influencing skills

  • Travels extensively (50%) to meet customers, manufacturing facilities, and field sales teams

  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of apps, CRM, and like software
