McEwen Mining Mine Operations Technician- Survey in Eureka, Nevada
The Gold Bar Mine is located 35 miles northwest of Eureka, Nevada. The property has seen historic mining from 1988 to 1994 by Atlas Precious Metals Inc. McEwen Mining Inc. acquired the property and began active exploration in 2011. The current project consists of an open pit mining operation delivering ore to a crushed heap leach with solution being processed through an ADR plant and refinery.
Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Geologist, the Mine Operations Technician will be responsible for assisting in surveying, collecting geological samples and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Support geologic/geotechnical mapping and sampling.
Support Engineering in Survey activities
Perform pit inspections
Develop and maintain team strategy for design compliance.
Compliance with all company policies and standards
Punctuality and regular attendance required.
Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by supervisor.
Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of computer processing systems
Strong verbal, written and analytical skills required
Ability to work independently
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Strong commitment to safe work practices required
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Valid Drivers’ license required
