Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for hands-on support of the accounting operations of the company. Provides support for the department’s production of timely and accurate financial information and analysis. Assist in the company’s ongoing improvement and refinement of internal control procedures and operational efficiencies. Must flourish in a team environment with varying demands and deadlines and have a willingness to pitch in and get the task at hand completed. Must also be professionally ambitious and willing and able to grow in a dynamic business environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Prepare and review journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
Preparation of account reconciliations and analysis.
Assist in the implementation of new systems and continuously strive to automate manual processes.
Assist with managing the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
Assist and support with full-cycle accounting duties, ensuring all financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state laws and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
Must enthusiastically work in a team environment and complete various duties and assignments that manifest themselves in a dynamic and growing business.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
Strong understanding of accounting theory.
5+ years accounting/finance experience.
Experience in an A/E environment preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA or CMA preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to self-motivate, act and operate independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft applications.
Experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint preferred
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, problem solving and results
