We are hiring for one full time Education Coordinator in either Eugene or Roseburg. Please apply to the posting with your preferred location. Bilingual candidates are eligible for an additional \$1.50 Bilingual Differential. This bilingual differential is not included in the salary above. Position Summary The Education Coordinator works with the Prevention and Education Manager to implement our HIV and Hepatitis C 101 education program and our HIV positive speakers program called the Speakers in the Schools program. We offer these programs to youth and adults in treatment and recovery programs, colleges, high schools, middles schools and other alternative youth facilities. This program spans multiple counties, each with their own unique characteristics. The Education Coordinator builds and maintains relationships with schools through direct outreach to teachers to promote the program and through soliciting feedback from teachers and school staff. This position recruits, trains and support a pool of speakers, including Poz Speakers, who are people living with or affected by HIV. The Coordinator assists speakers in story and presentation development, schedules presentations and offers support and feedback. This position also recruits and trains new speakers and facilitates peer mentoring between new and existing speakers. The Coordinator builds and maintains relationships with LGBT organizations serving school aged youth including GSAs. Through these relationships, the Coordinator provides education regarding HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs and also solicits feedback from these groups and makes improvements to the presentations based on the feedback received. The Coordinator hosts seasonal events for LGBTQIA+ youth groups through the Camp Alliance program. Camp Alliance is a social affinity group for high school age LGBTQIA+ students throughout western Oregon that offers a safe space for youth when the regular school year may not be in session. The coordinator will plan, schedule, and prepare for Camp Alliance sessions multiple times through the calendar year as well as to plan and promote outreach efforts to schools and through other platforms for the program. The Coordinator will also assist with harm reduction presentations and trainings around naloxone and overdose prevention. They will work with Prevention Managers to update the naloxone and overdose prevention presentations and may be called to do them for partner organizations, schools, treatment and recovery programs, etc. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Conduct outreach & follow up with schools, treatment centers, & other facilities to promote presentations Respond to requests for education presentations Work with the Prevention and Education Manager to recruit & train new speakers Ensure speakers utilize up to date, accurate and age appropriate prevention messages Schedule presentations, assigning speakers, distributing and collecting any paperwork necessary for each presentation For a complete job description, please visit: https://hivalliance.criterionhcm.com/jobs/51/1/#624
