Linnaeus Veterinary Surgeon (Weekday Nights) in Essex, United Kingdom
Cherrydown Vets are looking for Vet Surgeon to join their Out of Hours team during weekday nights in Basildon, Essex.

Hours and package
Monday-Friday from 7pm-8am (1 week on, 2 weeks off or 5 nights on, 9 night off)
No weekend nights
Salary £35,000-£45,000 D.O.E. (FTE £65,000-83,000)
You will form part of a night team, working alongside an experienced RVN and PCA. Your role will be to perform late consults 8pm-10pm for sick pets, and then available for emergency OOH calls throughout the night.
You will be responsible for providing a high standard of care to the inpatients but be comfortable to tailor treatment to suit the needs of the patient and client affordability. You will be experienced with basic emergency procedures such as blocked cats, foreign body surgeries, stabilisation of heart failure patients, although some support will be available. This role would suit someone with, or working towards, an ECC certificate. However, this is not essential.
We have a good range of diagnostic tests such as in-house EPOC, coags, T4, cortisol, new ultrasound machine with good range of probes, separate dog and cat wards and a very strong, experienced and friendly team. We have a well-equipped pharmacy to enable best treatment of our companion animal patients, large prep area and large theatre.

Our hospital and practices are very popular with an excellent variety of caseloads. We have a great clinical and non-clinical team dedicated to ensuring the needs of the animals and clients are met and the customer journey is excellent. Our vets are based at our Basildon hospital where they would be on a rota for either consults, ops or hospital vet days. We have a digital x-ray, new ultrasound machine, new endoscopes and a designated dental suite.
