The Cluster Chief Engineer (CCE) is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of maintenance, site upgrade works and cost, personnel or energy efficiency projects across the ARN (Sweden) Cluster including leased and colocation sites.

In this role you'll engages with each site Chief Engineer (CE) and Facility Manager (FM), drives overarching maintenance and infrastructure programs (such as maintenance planning, live load transfer maintenance and mechanical operational testing) from a cluster perspective and works to drive delivery across the DCEO (Data Center Engineering Operations) team in ARN. The CCE will also be engaged with the expansion plans and construction within the Country.

Key job responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance strategy and planning across the cluster

• Construction program management and coordination between construction team and cluster

• Critical event program management and training implementation

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and life systems equipment in data centers.

• Act as an escalation point for all technical facilities-related issues within the data center region

• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers and vendor support team.

• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.

A day in the life

In this role, typical day involves strategic planning of the maintenance for the year ahead (at a minimum, preferably 3 years), engages daily with site Chief Engineers and subject matter experts to confirm vendor engagement and scheduled work. They interface with construction, understanding program of works, develop strategic maintenance plans for the new assets to be made live. The CCE liaises daily with facility managers and chief engineers, bringing together coordination across the sites for asset availability.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree and relevant experience.

• 10+ years of relevant work experience.

• Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.

• Experience in Chief Engineer or similar role for at minimum a year prior.

Preferred Qualifications

• Program or planning training

• Global program experience or certification

• Project management experience.

• 5+ years of data center experience.

• Swedish electrical compliance experience (
