Abbott Medical GmbH's Electrophysiology division is looking for a

CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY (M/F/D) - REGION NORTH/WEST

Home-Office based in region Frankfurt (Main)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As Clinical Development Specialist (CDS) Electrophysiology (EP) you will gain market share within defined Accounts/ Detractor accounts and with defined & detractor physicians and you will serve as a back up to the core team of EP Field Technical Engineers (FTE’s) where necessary.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute strategic direction per competitor account with territory manager & support sales team in engaging trial/use of Abbott technology; take on commercial responsibilities as and when required

  • Install responsibility and immersion of FTE in account during trial phase

  • Roll out of LMR and clinical projects

  • Focused on Tier 1 accounts as priority across all relevant customers, secondary is Tier 2.

  • Participate in the creation of tailor-made training programs based on customer needs and requirements and perform product presentations and training to new customers; training and hand-over to local FTE in post-trial phase.

  • Provide primary technical support to physicians and nurses during Electrophysiology procedures using Abbott equipment over the assigned territory while bringing new centers/physicians on board

  • Support EP strategy and its execution, by supporting all activities related to the promotion of EP products, including internal and external educational programs, customer clinical training and other Abbott events

  • Respond to technical questions that might be raised by customer personnel

  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new Abbott products, therapies and technologies as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market

  • Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, including clinical studies, to consistently support Abbott’s product advantages

  • Understand how Abbott’s product portfolio compares to competition, to be able to offer an Abbott’s solution to customer in as many situations as possible

  • Produce concise market and competition reports for the Sales and Marketing team, providing the organization with competitive devices information. Proactively communicate to the Sales and Marketing organization relevant information that can pertain to: the account, the physicians, product preferences, procedural preference, etc.

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES

  • Education in scientific, medical or technical field

  • Bachelor or Master degree preferred but not a must

  • Medical background is a plus

  • Knowledge of the local healthcare market o In-depth experience in a EP technical role, ideally 3 years

  • Familiarity with Cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol

  • Strong Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology knowledge

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, willing to support Abbott’s product technically and from a sales perspective

  • Good computer utilization and presentation skills to include: MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point) and Email

  • Fluent in German and English

  • Willingness to travel extensively
