<p>We are seeking individuals for Wayfair’s Design team with a strong analytical background in the areas of design engineering and simulation, labor and financial modeling, and operational understanding.  The ideal candidate is an energetic team player who understands how to effectively drive data-driven results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company. This candidate must also have an interest in innovating to solve business problems creatively and a willingness to immediately tackle key challenges by performing key analyses that create understanding across a broad scope. A willingness to travel and tackle the unknown is highly desirable.</p>

<p>Wayfair is at an inflection point where we are moving from highly manual to automated operations, and scaling these solutions across a network of soon to be dozens of Fulfillment Centers. This is a unique role allowing immediate impact across an exponentially growing supply chain network.</p>

<ul>

<li>Conduct ad hoc analyzes through scoped problem statements and build advanced reporting using SQL, Excel, and Labor databases to drive decisions</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>Perform analyses to support objective understanding of data across multiple Wayfair Verticals </li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>Create and maintain essential management artifacts, to include Business Requirements Documents, project plans, and timelines</li>

<li>Perform financial and labor analysis of automated business solutions for various audiences across a variety of solution sets</li>

<li>Assist in training or mentoring of new and more junior team members</li>

<li>Own tasks within broader projects and challenge current approaches</li>

<li>Perform ROI Analysis and Procurement for various supply chain solutions including hardware, software, & supporting technology</li>

<li>Generate and assess metrics for dissemination of trends that affect service quality and customer reviews using statistics and quality engineering tools</li>

<li>Drive root cause analysis/reporting on operational issues, developing action plans and project managing improvements</li>

<li>Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams including Finance, Supply Chain, Technology, Process Definition, and Industrial Engineering</li>

<li>Monitor key performance indicators and drive corrective actions</li>

<li>Coordinate projects related to MHE, WMS and Process Improvement.</li>

<li>Support the development of RFPs as needed</li>

<li>Operational audits and presentations</li>

<li>Practice safe work procedures, and follows all safety rules at all times</li>

<li>Travel required – less than 20%</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Data Science / Analytics field</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>2+ years of experience in a related field</li>

<li>High proficiency in Excel/Python/R or other data analysis tools</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>Proficient with SQL/Google Big Query or other relational database query languages</li>

</ul>

<ul>

<li>Detail oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills, who is also highly results oriented and proactive</li>

<li>Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (conveyors, sortation, robotics), distribution/conveyor systems, Space planning and layout design proficiency (AutoCAD) and process knowledge for e-commerce/distribution is a plus</li>

<li>Proficient in financial and labor modeling</li>

<li>Strong technical background with Warehouse and Labor Management Systems are required to be successful in this role</li>

<li>Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicating with business partners and senior management both local and remote</li>

<li>Excellent time management and multitasking skills</li>

<li>Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly) in a dynamic, fast-paced organization</li>
