PGCS Sensory Specialist - Erlanger, KY

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Job Summary:

The PGCS Sensory Specialist role is a North America technical execution position that is responsible to ensure all PGCS related materials meet PGCS sensory specification prior to release. This role will directly confirm and release all PGCS materials for sensory release. This role will become the operational expert in all aspects of sensory related to PGCS material out of Erlanger. This position will ensure the development and execution of proper sensory release in all North America production sites, and then share best practices with global production sites. This position operates in a fast-paced and demanding work environment and is expected to present a professional image to both external customers and internal colleagues. This role will report to the PGCS Global Release Manager.

Primary Job Functions as related specifically to specific key business customers as specified:

  • Deep understanding of Pepsi’s expectations and deliverables in respect to product quality and service.

  • Deep working understanding of PGCS material sensory specifications

  • Testing and release of every PGCS batch shipment our of Erlanger

  • Develop Erlanger quality control sensory team to ensure Pepsi release specs are met

  • Proactively communicate performance trends to process owners to prevent out-of-spec situations and ensure PGCS optimal performance

  • Develop and provide routine status reports to process owners

  • Actively engage with new PGSC flavor development team for new formulations and reformulations

  • Participate as needed on CAPA team

  • Work with Flavors Regional Quality Manager and PGCS Analytical Specialist on tasks associated with PepsiCo related activities

  • Act as an SME for Flavors QC teams to improve organoleptic competency within Flavors NA to improve technician competency

  • Other similarly related tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food science, Engineering, or related field

  • Five (5) years quality control experience, including a minimum of two (2) years Sensory within Flavors production

  • Direct customer communication interactions
