Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The Makino Grinder Operator is responsible for performing required operations on Grinder machines, including loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, wheel preparation, and changing. The operator will clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of assigned equipment. Additionally, the operator will prepare various logs and records to document machine operation and daily production and enter the required data into the computer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required operations on Grinder machines, including loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, wheel preparation, and changing.

  • Clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of assigned equipment.

  • Prepare various logs and records to document machine operation and daily production, and enter required data into the computer.

  • Move and transport parts to appropriate locations as needed.

  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.

  • Receive, review, and refer to various records or reports including travelers, shift reports, SOP, safety sheets, etc.

  • Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms.

  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals including the immediate supervisor, co-workers, and other shop personnel.

  • Operate grinders, micrometers, gauges, various power tools, and computer.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNC Grinders.

  • Ability to operate mills and lathes.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.

  • Experience with CNC Setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in grinding, machining, and machine shop operations.

  • Knowledge of surface grinding, using micrometers, gauges, and deburring.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Erlanger, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00
