The Joint Ventures Operations Lead will be responsible for all activities involved in cargo operations at CVG Hub in Erlanger KY. Job duties will include processing time-sensitive materials for pick-up, transit, and delivery and the sorting, loading, and unloading of cargo shipments. The position moves material with speed and accuracy according to established procedures to meet deadlines for business necessity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Breaks down station material, including transfer and inbound materials

  • Performs sort, load, unload, and other material handling activities in accordance with approved procedures

  • Operates computer terminal to communicate with service centers regarding outgoing materials, flight materials, flight numbers, shipping methods, and any unusual activities

  • Operates scanner to process all incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Plans nightly aircraft loads based on preferred load positioning, volume of material, scheduled aircraft type, routing, and material to be moved

  • Understands load priority and makes decisions on load placement including assignment of material to be held off of a scheduled flight

  • Communicates excess weight and/or bulk issues to Hub Operations and Systems Operations Control

  • Ensures that the correct containers are set up to unload airplanes by knowing what type of aircraft is in use

  • Successfully completes certification training and maintains currency in the use of all equipment as it relates to the loading, unloading, and material handling equipment, including, not limited to, forklifts, tugs, belt loaders, and cargo loaders

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Previous experience in Ramp/Cargo/Sort Operations

  • Senior service, production, or support roles highly experienced in area of responsibility.

  • Performs all of the standard and some specialized, more complex aspects of the function.
