Description

We are in the manufacturing sector, based in Erie, Pennsylvania, and we are currently seeking a Senior Accountant. This role involves various duties, including assisting in the monthly financial closing process, reconciling general ledger accounts, and managing inventory controls. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the completion of the monthly financial closing process, ensuring all data is accurate and timely

• Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis

• Oversee the receipt of purchase orders for incoming materials and fixed assets

• Implement and maintain proper controls over inventory, including regular updates to subsystems

• Ensure all fixed assets are properly tagged and the fixed asset ledgers are kept up-to-date

• Prepare debit memos for materials transferred to sub-contractors

• Assist in the preparation of the monthly forecast and Annual Operating Plan

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in accounting functions and principles

• Experience with SAP and Oracle systems

• Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries accurately and efficiently

• Knowledge of ledger journal entries and month-end journal entries

• Experience in preparing monthly and annual financial reports

• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and inventory controls

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
