UPMC Professional Staff Nurse - Infusion Center in Erie, Pennsylvania

UPMC Hamot is hiring a casual Professional Staff Nurse to join the Infusion Center!

The UPMC Hamot Infusion Center team is looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to excel in a close-knit, team-oriented environment.

This position is casual, minimum of 16 hours per pay period. Daylight shift, no holidays or weekends.

Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures comprehensive patient documentation to promote caregiver communication.

  • Incorporates goals from national professional organizations and health systems to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.

  • BSN preferred.

  • Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

  • Handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

  • Exhibit good clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Lead others in applying the nursing process.

  • Demonstrate mobility and visual manual dexterity.

  • Maintain physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients."

  • At least two years of nursing experience. BSN preferred.

  • Prior Infusion experience required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • UPMC approved national certification preferred.

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
