Ephrata National Bank Sr. Real Estate Associate in Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Summary:

Under limited supervision, this position will manage ordering and reviewing appraisals/environmental due diligence reports ranging in size and complexity, and understanding and independently administrating the construction loan funding process.   This position will participate in in-depth underwriting discussions with relationship managers and senior credit staff regarding real estate taken as collateral.  

Essential Functions:

  • Bid order and review more complex appraisals/environmental due diligence reports to ensure the bank's collateral position is protected.
  • Ensure regulatory and bank policy compliance.
  • Render opinions on the quality and reliability of appraisals/environmental due diligence reports per policy and provide opinions as of the quality of those reports.
  • Provide high-quality consultation to CLC and RM's on CRE transactions, so the lending group can make informed and prudent lending decisions.
  • Manage construction loans during construction funding phase, and maintain construction procedures. Order and review construction inspection reports, and administer construction loan disbursements.
  • Manage approved appraiser list and make recommendations on what appraisers are used.
  • May make recommendations to the Real Estate Appraisal Policy or the Environmental Risk Policy.
  • Maintain and manage all construction loan progress reports (including escrow accounts).
  • Support consumer collections as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all activities.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 or more years of loan experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Effective collaboration and resolution-oriented skills.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices for ordering and reviewing appraisals and evaluations
  • Proficient in understanding of commercial loan structure, collateral evaluation and loan documentation
  • Excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to build rapport with all lending staff
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • An ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction
  • Independently complete the residential, commercial and agricultural construction process

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility of schedule to meet business needs is required.
