Robert Half Back End Developer in Enka, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Developer to join our growing IT team. This role is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our core database infrastructure and various software applications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring data integrity, security, accessibility, and efficient data processing to support departmental and company goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement logical and physical data models, optimizing database performance, integrity, consistency, security, and privacy.

  • Develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views for data reporting and integration with software programs.

  • Extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses, generating reports based on departmental and company goals to provide relevant information to staff.

  • Set up and maintain SQL server clusters, implementing load balancing and data replications using various techniques like Always On, transactional, and merge replication.

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain software programs and applications, including web, Windows, and Dynamics AX functionalities.

  • Identify and implement improvements in existing program functionalities and system efficiency, responding promptly to program and user errors to minimize downtime.

  • Manage assigned projects, prioritizing tasks in collaboration with the Director of Information Technology to align with company and departmental goals.

  • Install, customize, maintain, and integrate commercial software packages into existing systems.

  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect applications from malware, viruses, ransomware, hacking, and penetration attempts.

  • Manage, administer, and review security access to all applications and security settings within the corporate environment, collaborating with the Director of Information Technology.

  • Train system users on proper data processing techniques and error prevention methods to ensure smooth operation.

  • Collaborate with other system programmers on projects and assignments, providing assistance and knowledge sharing.

  • Continuously stay updated on emerging technologies in the field, actively seeking opportunities to enhance professional competencies.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology, adhering to all product safety, legal, regulatory compliance, and quality standards

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database administration and application development

  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server and related technologies (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, etc.)

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data extraction/transformation/loading (ETL) processes

  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, debugging, and version control

  • Experience in designing and implementing security measures for applications and databases

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Strong desire to learn and stay updated with new technologies
