This is a remote position and will require up to 25% travel.

The Nursing Innovation and Care Transformation department was initiated as a strategy to create the “Practice Environment of the Future.” This analyst position will collaborate closely across the CommonSpirit Health (CSH) system with multi-disciplinary national, divisional and local leaders and associates. In addition, this position will be a key member of our Nursing Care Transformation department, providing innovative thinking through development of operational reports and dashboards to support clinical care model redesign.

This position serves as an analytical lead for a variety of work teams, providing support, expertise and guidance in development of project documentation that meet professional standards and all system and user requirements; data collection from disparate sources and use of operational, financial, clinical and quality analysis in program application; outcomes measurement;validity and appropriateness of complex and multi-dimensional data; meeting with stakeholders to define system data and reporting needs and ensuring that gaps in current systems/practices are identified and addressed; and consolidating data into Executive level reports for purposes of presenting and explaining information to various leadership and management audiences to facilitate understanding of the information needed to support clinical practices and provide actionable opportunities for improvement

This position directly supports assigned projects and initiatives by providing support in developing outcome measures, methodology and data analysis, and in interpreting results achieved. This role will support the entire program team as a program/business analyst, contributing directly to the development of the Care Transformation strategy. The analyst will support development of work plans, timelines and operational reporting. The analyst will also assist in facilitating and coordinating data analyses for each project, deliver specific file review and maintenance, and assist in delivering data to support strategic decisions.

Key contacts include organizational management, physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers, for the purpose of influencing or persuading in order to promote understanding of clinical data, collaborate and gain acceptance of recommendations, and achieve overall care model objectives. Work also involves significant interdisciplinary collaboration with other groups responsible for gathering and maintaining a variety of operational data; including Finance, HR, Productivity, Quality/Risk, etc.


  • Creation and maintenance of all operational reports and dashboards.

  • Validate the source of scorecard data and align with other business intelligence information groups and systems at CSH.

  • Partner with finance to identify new ways of reporting cost-based care.

  • Perform complex data analytics/modeling/forecasting activities in support of operational, business and financial planning and development; prepare recurring and special aggregated data reports and related decision support tools by obtaining/manipulating electronic and abstracted data from automated and/or manual systems.

  • Consults with project sponsors/stakeholders to discuss business needs/requirements and to coordinate the development of project proposals, plans and specific metrics for measuring project results.

  • Facilitates the timely, efficient and accurate collection, analysis and management of key clinical data in support of process improvement activities.

  • Facilitates/leads meetings with senior management and key internal/external stakeholders as appropriate, prepares meeting materials, drives effort to identify and resolve issues/risks and determine next steps.

  • Presents, interprets and explains complex and multi-dimensional report content to various audiences including senior leadership/management, performance improvement teams, physicians/providers and other stakeholders. Uses numerous presentation methods / techniques / tools (e.g., mapping, graphs, multimedia) to creatively present data for optimal leadership decision-making.

  • Assures statistical validity and reliability of data sources and analytic techniques .

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for, and participates in, ongoing performance/process improvement activities relating to data management.

  • Works closely with other Nursing Care Transformation team members to achieve a consistent and cohesive work product that appears seamless to project customers.

  • This position requires a high degree of professionalism and an ability to interact with a variety of internal and external entities/individuals to develop productive relationships, significantly increase the visibility of care transformation efforts and to facilitate achievement of program goals that respond to organizational strategies and regulatory needs.

  • The position will have a wide range of access to protected health information and understands the importance of confidentiality regarding all patient information pursuant to HIPAA policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing or closely related field is required. Finance preferred

  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience, preferably in healthcare

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.

  • Strong Financial data analysis experience required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry services and product

  • Proficient use of databases, statistic applications, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Basic programing skills such as development of macros and reports

  • Excellent customer service, written, verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent collaboration, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced knowledge/experience with G Suite and/or MS Office - Slides/PowerPoint, Docs/Word, Google Sheets/MS Excel, MS Visio, and/or related applications

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with peers, leadership, and providers

  • Knowledge of effective self-management practices and ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, i.e., proactively identify and act upon opportunities, motivate others during times of organizational change and ambiguity, create an environment that encourages sharing of best practices and alerting groups to alternative approaches

A compensation range of$70,000-$104,000is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
