The Select Group is hiring a Network Architect in Englewood, Colorado! This Network Architect will focus on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting advanced network infrastructure, with an emphasis on DOCSIS (3.0 & 3.1) and EPON standards. The Network Architect will play a critical role in resolving escalated field issues, optimizing network performance, and ensuring the integrity of high-level designs for both hardware and software systems. This position requires strong expertise in network protocols, CMTS, EPON platforms, and routing technologies, along with a proactive approach to maintaining and improving network reliabilit

Must Have Skills

  • 10+ years of CPE troubleshooting and DOCSIS (3.0 & 3.1) experience
  • Advanced knowledge of DOCSIS and EPON standards
  • Working knowledge of CMTS platforms, including:
  • Casa C100G
  • Arris E6000
  • Cisco cBR8
  • RPHY
  • Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs
  • Vecima RPDs
  • Working knowledge of EPON platforms, including:
  • ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210
  • Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
  • Working knowledge of switch platforms, including:
  • Cisco NCS/ASR
  • Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols, including:
  • OSPF
  • ISIS
  • BGP
  • v4/v6 Multicast
  • Ability to write technical documentation and follow detailed technical test plans

Nice to Have Skills

  • Background in troubleshooting CPE and ONU devices
  • Creative problem-solving and network troubleshooting skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Access and CPE device issues.
  • Validate and optimize network performance and capacity through detailed assessments.
  • Configure routers, switches, and implement communications technologies.
  • Write and execute technical test plans and documentation to maintain network integrity.
  • Collaborate with teams to install and maintain hardware and software tools, ensuring security and operational standards are met.
  • Monitor and implement new technologies to improve network design and performance, ensuring compliance with project requirements and protocols.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for complex network systems, including wireless and local area networks.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain accurate documentation to anticipate and prevent future connectivity issues.
