NBC Universal Technical Project Manager, SAP in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

The Corporate Technology team is seeking a Technical Project Manager to play a pivotal role in managing key projects that drive Enterprise Technology and support NBCU's business evolution. This role involves coordinating and leading high-priority projects, providing cross-functional team leadership, and ensuring the successful delivery of technical solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities will also include leading the department’s FinOps and cloud cost savings initiatives.  

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage project plans, schedules, resource plans, program budgets, and financial cost/benefit models 

  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders, document requirements/scope, and host program kick-offs 

  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to key stakeholders and executives 

  • Capture new requirements, create user stories, acceptance criteria, ensure backlog is kept up to date, prioritized and optimized regularly 

  • Execute multiple projects, manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively. 

  • Use effective communications and management skills to tie overall projects to larger program and enterprise initiatives 

  • Build strong partnerships to mobilize project team members and influence leaders, teams, and suppliers 

  • Participate in overall program or project planning and ensure cross team dependencies are well understood and managed 

  • Follow and contribute to standards, best practices, processes, and documentation 

  • Communicate effectively with technical teams, business teams, and leadership 

  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability 

FinOps And Cloud Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary FinOps point of contact for Corporate Technology team, providing technical and cloud financial expertise to drive FinOps awareness and adoption 

  • Manage cloud-related expenses, aligning with best practices and enterprise-wide optimization initiatives 

  • Potentially grow this area to include hiring and managing FinOps specialists 

Budget Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets, POs, invoices, and CapEx tracking 

  • Provide metrics to understand resource allocation and alignment to strategic priorities 

  • Forecast and advise leadership on pacing, trends, and optimize capital expenditure 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years equivalent experience in Project/Program Management or a related field, demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to work under pressure, proactively, and with a strong sense of ownership 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Atlassian suite (Jira, etc.), Smartsheet, Lucidchart, and other project planning tools 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience managing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) projects/programs 

  • Knowledge of FP&A concepts and global project team management 

  • Ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences 

  • Experience with ERP/SAP end-to-end system implementation a plus 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, IT, Agile Product & App Development environments and frameworks 

  • Certifications such as PgMP, PMP, or CSM are a plus

Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 (bonus eligible)
