Unilever Associate Finance Manager - Supply Chain Finance FP&A in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Background & Purpose of the Job

As part of Unilever’s North America Supply Chain Finance organization, this role will support Supply Chain Finance FP&A which has a key responsibility of providing end-to-end supply chain finance support. This role will span responsibilities of the Finance Excellence Team (FET) to provide leadership and an understanding of Supply Chain cost, in addition to providing support to S&OP, the Supply Chain Leadership team etc. The role will work closely with the FET Leadership team in Supply Chain to provide understanding and bring insights on the Supply Chain Cost.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

Support Performance Management on US Beauty & Personal Care and NA Home Care divisions driving actions to deliver gross margin ambitions by:

  • Creating a standard approach to reflect actuals, including understanding of breakouts between difference supply chain buckets.

  • Driving transparency on overall supply chain performance including Forecast & Actuals, in addition to partnering across the Supply Chain Finance organization to accurately reflect latest trends and insights.

  • Support the category Finance teams to develop knowledge of material as it relates to Inflation, Value Improvement Projects (VIP/Savings), Special Packs, Inbound Freight, Factory Waste & Rebates. Leverage best practices from previous acquisitions on managing Business Waste and Logistics expectations during transition periods.

  • Responsible for presenting to different leadership stakeholders on overall performance of Supply Chain Costs/Gross Margin delivery against forecast and targets.

  • Drive Supply Chain Performance Management, through continuously bringing insights about top commodities while leveraging the Supply Chain Finance Excellence Team for additional insight about material KPI’s to drive value and close gaps to deliver the target.

  • Continuous challenge of Supply Chain Costs and cost savings agenda to ensure project funnel is sufficient to deliver Targets.

  • Support the NA FET Manager on key forums (S&OP, Supply Chain Leadership team, US deep dive, performance calls).

  • Ad-hoc financial modelling, Gross Margin analyses and any financial KPIs needed to facilitate decision making process.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. MBA or a degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA etc) is preferred.

  • Minimum of four years of related finance experience with increasing responsibility and control.

  • Prior Supply Chain Finance and/or Controllers experience preferred

  • Experience in audit and transfer pricing knowledge is a plus

  • Financial information systems knowledge a huge plus including SAP and/or Power BI

  • Prior work experience in Brand, Supply Chain, Customer Development (Sales), Audit, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred

  • An enterprising and inquisitive nature that can find solutions to complex problems

  • Experience creating and implementing process improvement solutions

  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis in both verbal and written forms

  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels leadership, and experience communicating with all levels of financial acumen

  • Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
