What you will do

This role sits within the Northern Europe

  • Consumer & Business Insights (CBI) team and is part of a global community of insights experts dedicated to driving deep human insights through the business by providing actionable consumer, shopper, channel and data analytics insights to help grow Kenvue.

The Senior CBI Manager is responsible for partnering across the Kenvue business in Northern Europe to bring expertise on our consumers/shoppers, trends, categories and brands and working with the customer & category teams to drive retailer collaboration, as well as with our cross-functional squads (led by Marketing) to drive brand execution. This is done through generating timely and actionable insights which engage both our squads / other internal stakeholders & directly with customers (retailers) and the commercial organisation. You will bring the voice of the consumer/shopper into the business as well as to our retailer partners.

The Senior CBI Manager will be the internal consultant for holistic trends, consumer and shopper insights. The role will collaborate to determine the overall N.Europe insights agenda, deliver against it by implementing optimal research solutions which uncover strong insights and embed them to drive action that will deliver business results & aid decision-making to unlock opportunities internally and with key retailers.

Leading a team of 4, you will champion and own the research agenda for both consumer and shopper insights. This is a varied and dynamic role, balancing the needs of multiple cross functional stakeholders, as well as proactively initiating research, to deliver against business objectives. You will directly manage some larger strategic initiatives, as well as overseeing delivery of the broader insights agenda through your direct reports and via close collaboration with the wider CBI team

The Senior CBI Manager is responsible for the people management, process management, project management and agency management across ad hoc research for CBI NE. This includes workflow prioritization, working closely with the squad leads & category strategy / commercial leads. This role also manages the total Ad hoc research budget

This role is critical to drive action and collaboration within Kenvue

Major Duties/Responsibilities

1. Define & deliver the insights plan :

  • Partner with squad & commercial leads to evaluate all insight needs and build the learning plan. Determine the key business questions that need to be answered (prioritising accordingly against business objectives), assess our ability to respond to them and take action accordingly

  • Ensure research briefs are clear & linked to business objectives.

  • Tailor the right research solutions to business issues/questions/opportunities and prioritise research according to business need, commercial priorities, opportunity and available budget & resource.

  • Collaborate and prioritise across the NE CBI team to optimise work allocation, update on projects and share learnings

  • Project manage own projects/ guide on others to ensure quality deliverables, within agreed timescales. Engage teams and socialise outputs to land learnings with maximum impact.

  • Think end to end with squads/commercial and pull in the relevant CBI colleagues, as needed

2. Trends: Utilise a wide range of information and data sources to keep abreast of the latest trends affecting consumers, shoppers and retailers (the future of shopping) and determine Kenvues response to these, driving this through the squad and commercial teams.

3. Annual Business Planning: Lead the insights contribution to the Internal Business Planning process

4. Stakeholder partnerships: Work closely with the Marketing Leadership Team & Commercial Development Leadership Teams to develop strong and trusting partnerships. Ensure CBI understand the key business pressures and that ways of working are optimized

5. Budget Management: Own the adhoc research budget ensuring Kenvue derives maximum value and optimises investment choices. Ensure budget status is monitored stays within agreed levels

6. Intra-functional Collaboration

a. Collaborate with the wider CBI org EMEA CBI, Global CBI & Global Brand Development Tables to influence and drive the NE research agenda and needs.

b. Collaborate with EMEA / Global CBI to develop new approaches, methodologies and focus.

c. Collaborate with EMEA / Global CBI across the franchises on all projects on lead squads / franchise

7. Agency Management:

a. Foster and maintain effective working relationships with Kenvues appointed external agencies ensuring projects are delivered on time, in full and at a competitive rate.

b. Continue to embed and upgrade the capabilities of our agile insights platform

c. Maintain and regularly review our supplier roster to ensure it fully meets our current and future needs, and is optimized against the Science of Brand Growth framework

8. Team Management Functional Upskilling

a. Line management of 2 x CBI Managers and 2 x placement students responsible for their functional and leadership development

b. The Senior CBI manager will also act as functional mentor to the team, supporting the growth and development technically of the team, advising on methodology selection & creating shadowing opportunities for less experienced team members in line with their development plans

  • The Northern Europe cluster at Kenvue comprises UK (lead market), Ireland and Nordics
