Weyerhaeuser Boiler Utility in Emerson, Arkansas
Weyerhaeuser Company in Emerson, AR is hiring for a Boiler Operator. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, motivated to work, and works as a team member. This position is an entry level role into our Boiler Department and operates on a 12-hour schedule including both days and nights.
The Boiler Utility is responsible for operating the front-end loader, cleaning the grates, grinding fuel, hauling ash, cleaning out bunkers, and performing general housekeeping duties.
Key Functions:*
- Commitment to working safe and following all safety rules and regulations.
- Able to interpret work instructions and complete tasks as delegated.
- Actively participate in the team-based work environment with a positive attitude, good communication skills, and respectable work ethic.
- Work with a team of boiler operators and helpers to maintain boiler operation; including but not limited to operation of the fuel handling equipment, boiler operation, and maintenance.
Perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks including, but not limited to equipment inspection and preventative maintenance (including rolling stock), equipment repairs, and keeping boiler area clean.
High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 6 months employment experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment OR equivalent technical training.
- Able to work safely around moving manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Able to work overtime, holidays, as well as night shift and some weekends.
- Able to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety protective equipment.
- Able to perform labor intensive work and essential job functions of the position, which may include climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 lbs. and bending, work from heights, and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 12 hours.
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Able to complete forklift training.
- Resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration.
- Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work closely with supervisors, and all others in the department, be a team player/leader, good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate positive attitude.
- Must have good performance, safety, and attendance records.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills.
- Must have ability to identify, communicate potential problems, and work to solve them.
- Prior boiler operation experience preferred.
