Nickle Plate Bar & Grill Kitchen Manager in Elysburg, Pennsylvania

The Nickle Plate Bar & Grill is looking for a Kitchen Manager to coordinate and supervise the restaurant's kitchen to ensure the kitchen is operating in compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation standards. This is a year-round position, reporting to the Nickle Plate Restaurants Manager.

Hours of operation for the summer are currently Sunday through Thursday 11am to 9pm and Friday through Saturday 11am to 10pm. Hours of operation for the winter are currently Thursday through Friday 3pm to 8/9pm and Saturday through Sunday 11am to 9/8pm. Shifts for this position may start before operational hours, end after operational hours, or be scheduled for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Minimum of 40 hours per week for benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations at various food service locations
  • Ensure that proper sanitation procedures are being followed
  • Ensure that safety standards are maintained
  • Perform quality control of food leaving the kitchen to ensure a high level of quality
  • Maintain inventory to keep up with restaurant demand
  • Conduct administrative duties including, but not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, menu development, personal and team member accountability, and motivation of team members
  • Maintain a cleaning schedule along with opening and closing procedures policies
  • Develop industry knowledge by attending a minimum of two food shows a year
  • Work closely with the Nickle Plate Manager to achieve the goal of consistency and value across the department
  • Provide oversight, supervision, and leadership to a multigenerational staff

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Current SERV Safe Certificate required
  • 2+ years of kitchen management experience preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency in preforming basic computer functions
  • Willingness to additional education in food service and leadership
