The LCADA Way is currently recruiting for an Addiction Counselor to work with our Men's department in a Correctional Based setting.
Summary:
The IOP Addiction Counselor responsible for routine duties of an Addiction Counselor, including, but not limited to screening, assessment, treatment planning, education, referral and documentation.
Essential Functions:
Delivery of clinical services including individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, intensive outpatient services, requesting urinalysis, non-medical community residential services, consultation, referral and information, intervention, hotline, training, outreach, crisis intervention, case management and adjunctive alcohol and drug services. Assessment and treatment planning including assessment of client's strengths and weaknesses, developing treatment plans to prioritize and address identified problems, examining alternative solutions and developing plans of action.
Oversight of each case assigned to caseload. Orienting the client to the program, clinical reviews and clinical staffing, discharge planning and completion of daily progress notes. Engaging the family of each client in the family treatment program. Delivery of program components as assigned. Weekly contact with referral sources for clients assigned to caseload. Completion of all CQI data collection and implementation of all CQI corrective actions as assigned. Monthly participation in the Utilization Review and Peer Review programs. Other duties as assigned.
General Requirements:
Must adhere to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board's Chemical Dependency Code of Ethics, demonstrate an understanding of addiction as an illness, and have three years of treatment or recovery experience. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills required. Must have the ability to effectively work with agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population. Must be able to pass a criminal background check for eligibility to work in a correctional setting.
Educational Requirements:
Associate Degree or higher preferred.
Certification Requirements:
CDCA required. LCDC-II, LPC, LSW or higher credential preferred.
*Amount of Travel: *Minimal, mostly confined to local travel.
Hours: Part-Time, Monday-Friday, Daytime Shift with 1-2 evenings required per week.
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with licensure and experience.
