Environmental Technician

Job Description

The Environmental Technician will demonstrate technical knowledge and physical abilities required for the position. The role involves travel to various client sites, both locally and nationwide, to provide CEMS installation, maintenance, and operations services for industrial clients. The Employee must possess a willingness to increase knowledge and skills and contribute added value to Company objectives. Responsibilities also include performing third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring for clients, transporting equipment to site, setting up and breaking down of testing equipment, recording data, collecting samples, equipment calibrations, assisting engineers in air quality testing procedures, organizing and loading testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming jobs and maintenance and cleaning of testing equipment.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Work Environment

The work environment involves field work on industrial sites such as power plants, steel mills, refineries, and manufacturing plants. The job may require set up tests at heights of 100 to 400 feet above ground level. Workdays can be 8-10+ hours long in the field or 8 hour days in the warehouse. The role involves working in teams ranging from 3 to 20 members. The job may require travel and occasional weekend work. On non-field days, duties include warehouse work like preparing testing equipment, loading vehicles with equipment for upcoming jobs, cleaning and other general maintenance tasks. Weather conditions can affect the consistency of work
