SUMMARY

Kennedy Valve is currently seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of 2nd shift Finishing Supervisor. This position reports to the Value Stream Manager. Top level priority of the Finishing Supervisor is to lead their team by managing their own words and behaviors, setting an example that engages employees. The Finishing Supervisor works closely with the VSM to direct the day-to-day activities of up to 20 hourly employees.

  • Work with VSM and area supervisors to provide support to hourly employees, assuring that the right tools and training are present to do the job safely.
  • Collect and record daily production information and identify opportunities for improvement based on the data.
  • Maintain payroll system for assigned employees including submitting vacation and approving hours worked on a weekly basis.
  • Assure all Safety and Environmental training is up to date while promoting a people first environment where the expectation is to keep each other safe.
  • Perform monthly safety inspections as assigned with a focus on improvements.
  • Direct workforce on a day-to-day basis, making changes as needed to meet our goal of 100% on time all the time.
  • Promote an environment of accountability and trust
  • Responsible for reviewing inventory, including weekly Kanban counts.
  • Review scrap daily, record findings and offer opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Identify areas needing support through daily interactions and walk throughs on production floor

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in leadership role within a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient user knowledge of MS Office programs; especially Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing for long periods of time, walking throughout the facility, ability to lift 50lbs as required.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
  • Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in a managerial office.
  • 2nd shift position

JOB SUMMARY

An Assembler is a physically demanding position and often requires repetitive lifting of smaller product (up to 50 lbs.), assisted lifting of heavier product, standing for extended periods, walking within cell, maneuvering for bending, twisting, and lifting arms overhead. Assembly of the finished product (i.e., hydrants and valves) and the coinciding trim/accessory parts. An Assembler is responsible for assembling components of valves and hydrants. Assemblers use pneumatic equipment to assemble finished goods and the coinciding trim/accessory parts. The Assembler will use/operate pneumatic equipment, basic hand tools, and/or direct physical labor in the assembly processes. The Assembler is required to clean the work area as necessary and must work the first and/ or second shift.





JOB DUTIES

Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
Perform quality checks on product and parts.
Maintain production equipment and machinery.
Use/operate pneumatic equipment, basic hand tools, and/or direct physical labor in the assembly processes.
Bolts or otherwise fastens parts together.
Operate machinery and heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
Operate equipment to perform fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
Works at different workstations as production needs require.
Works online where tasks vary as different models of same article are scheduled for production.
Package finished product and prepared for shipment.
