EJ Hourly Maintenance A in Elmira, Michigan

EJ has an immediate opening for Maintenance Mechanics on 2nd shift starting at $21.50 to $25.10 an hour depending on experience with a potential of $29.95 an hour.

Shift premium of $1.50 with 2nd and 3rd shift positions.

SUMMARY

Safely optimize and/or repair equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.

  • Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.

  • Optimize and/or repair equipment.

  • Uses power and/or hand tools per work instruction database and associated information systems.

  • May drive industrial equipment to move materials.

  • Uses computer to obtain and/or input information.

  • May be assigned to jobs in other departments.

  • May aid in training of others.

  • Provides suggestion for improvement of all of our systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment.

  • Reads and understands diagrams/prints.

  • Must meet physical demands as stated below.

  • May be required to work overtime on regular basis.

  • May be required to work holidays.

  • Testing or Assessments for skills may be required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Fork Truck Driver's License, Industrial vehicle/equipment license where applicable.
