East Aurora, NY. Moog, Inc. Finisher. FT. Benefits. $20.00- $22.00/Hour.
Perform repetitive bench and machine operations to clean, polish, break edges, form radii, blend defects, remove contamination, remove excess material, remove flash, remove nodules from EDM operations, and detect unusual defects in material or workmanship. Rubber stamp, steel stamp, and "Electromark" or "Electroetch" part numbers and serial numbers. Clean and package parts. The removal of burrs is accomplished through the use of hand dental tools, hand scrapers, small hand stones, small power tools, abrasive blast, S. S. White, Pang-Born Sand Blast, liquid hone, belt sanders, and buffing wheels. To remove burrs, many of the parts are held in the hand while working on then. Others, such as cylindrical shaped parts, are held in speed lathes to break edges or form radii in grooves by holding stones or other abrasive tools against the part while it is turning. Tasks tend to be external and repetitive (100 to 1,000 piece orders) with some simple, single intersect, internal work occasionally required. Tooling is with standard Tool Crib items. Special tooling is provided by others. Work is to be checked by the operator for size of radius or chamfer and completeness of burr removal with the aid of magnifying glass or microscope. Work is normally very light to light in weight. Work from operation sheets, visual aids, demonstrations, and verbal instructions. Usually tasks are explained by the Technical Coordinator or Supervisor.
