The Engineering & Sciences organization is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Test Engineer supporting Integration and Test efforts in the G/ATOR program family, based out of our portfolio in the Maritime & Land Sensors and Systems (MLSS) Division. We are seeking new team members to support both antenna and system-level testing on G/ATOR Production programs.
This position is an on-site position, and will be located in Linthicum, Maryland. Candidates must be able to work 4th shift (Fri-Sun, 7:00AM-7:00PM).
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal Systems Engineer.
Role Responsibilities:
Integrate, troubleshoot, and test Antennas and RF sensor systems
Perform Antenna Measurements and Data Reduction
Support integration / lab environment development and establishment
Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit level and system level behavior, and ensure testing is producing expected data points
Define & develop test capabilities that exercise and stress respective software and hardware capabilities
Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans
Perform all responsibilities at multiple Northrop Grumman sites in Linthicum, MD
This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
A current/active DoD secret clearance is required
Ability to perform work independently
Experience with both Subsystem and System level test
Experience with antenna test and performing antenna measurements
Experience with RF lab test equipment: signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving HW/SW/FW integration problems
Experience with test scripting, data analysis, and/or signal processing
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
A current/active DoD secret clearance is required
Ability to perform work independently

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with antenna or subsystem control design
Knowledge and experience with ground radars and AESA radar development, design, test
Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution
Multi-disciplinary engineering experience and exposure (Software/Digital, Hardware, Electrical, Systems) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally
Familiarity working with embedded real time software and digital systems
Master’s degree in STEM or technical leadership
Experience supporting USMC and/or USAF customer
Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $95,800 - $143,600
Salary Range 2: $119,200 - $178,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
