We are currently looking for aDirector of Sales and Marketingto join our team in Romulus, MI. TheDirector of Sales and Marketingmanages and oversees the sales and marketing operations for ACTIA. Main duties include development of new business, designing plans to meet sales targets, developing and cultivating relationships with customers and evaluating costs to determine products' pricing.

Job Specific Competencies:

  1. *Business and Account Development *
    1. Develops and manages new business development operating budget
    2. Establishes strategic business plans to achieve corporate objectives
    3. Develops and executes comprehensive business plans and programs to support sales and revenue objectives
    4. Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities
    5. Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities
    6. Monitors competitive products and marketing activities
    7. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers, key community and strategic partners
    8. Conducts marketing surveys on current an new product concepts
    9. Provides feedback internally and to headquarters for future product development
    10. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  2. *Sales and Marketing Management *
    1. Manages and supervises business development managers
    2. Facilitates development of supervised personnel
    3. Oversees development and production of promotional and collateral materials
    4. Develops and recommends pro uct positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy
    5. Ensures effective control of marketing results
    6. Takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
    7. Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in structure of marketing group
    8. Provides swift response to marketing problems and opportunities
    9. Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management
  3. *Collaboration *
    1. Serves as liaison with outside agencies and headquarters ongoing promotional campaigns
    2. Collaborates with all internal departments
  4. *Legal Compliance *
    1. Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements
    2. Ensure ISO procedures are followed
    3. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; a business degree would be a plus
  • Five years of marketing/sales experience
  • Automotive knowledge is preferred
  • A second European language a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Logical reasoning ability is essential
  • Ability to travel extensively both domestic and internationally
